Gamecube - Unreal Engine 5

This was my final project created for my Props and Weapons class at Gnomon taught by Gabriel Cervantes. I wanted to evoke a nostalgic feeling with this piece, and show my love for gaming. Representing the sleepovers I would have at my best friends house as a kid, staying up all night, playing Smash, and trading each others Pokémon cards way past our bedtime. A memory i'm sure many people have fond feelings over in some form. The scene was rendered in Unreal Engine 5, with game-ready assets. The low poly Gamecube controller itself coming in at around 8k tris and the Gamecube console being around 3-4k tris. I tried to be a bit more cautious with the poly-count just as an excercise for myself. The high poly was done in ZBrush, textured in substance painter. Bakes done in Marmoset. Responsible for all aspects aside from the carpet texture which is from ambient cg. The Pokémon Cards and brands are owned by Nintendo and their respective artists. Huge thank you to my amazing instructor Gabriel Cervantes for all his feedback, guidance with this piece and really helping me push this to the best of my ability. I learned so much from Gabe and doing this project that I can take away from for the future. I'd also like to give thanks to Leonardo Ledesma for his lighting feedback.
