Sonata of the Stones is an original real-time environment that I created in Unreal Engine 5. Framed as an iconic historical Armenian monument turned inside out. A geological anomaly, twisted by unnatural forces into a blinding gate of divine illumination. What emerges from the shadows are monolithic pillars towering over a sea of ash and molten candles. Beneath the seal of the golden sun, light bounces through the stone like a bass heavy, ethereal composition trapped into thousands of years of aged old stone.

I got to work with the talented composer Grigor Abgaryan who created the original score for the Sonata of the Stones environment, giving a voice to its scale, weight, and the sense of something ancient still echoing through the stones, described as a marriage between light & shadow.

drawing inspiration from a striking natural monument located in the Garni Gorge of Armenia called "symphony of the stones", famous for its towering basalt columns that resemble giant pipe organs.
--
With this environment, I challenged myself to create an interesting, eye-catching structure with abstract story and visuals using a very limited amount of assets. The entire environment was only made with 5 unique meshes. Responsible for all aspects aside from the Armenian alphabet text
