The Road-Runner Motel is a real-time environment I created in my Environment Creation for Games Course taught by the amazing Jon Arellano at Gnomon. This environment is based on a motel in my hometown that I would pass by every day since childhood on my way to school, imagining the lives of those staying inside as I drove by. But with constant rumors and uncertainty of this motel's closure, I wanted to immortalize this space in my interpretation as a game environment. I sought to display the once very lived-in feel of the motel, being a place that would show its age and not be a very up-to-date cleanly maintained motel anymore, but still display a sense of warmth and show its years. I was responsible for all aspects in this scene aside from a few of the grunge decal. I would like to give a huge thank you to Jon Arellano for being such an amazing instructor, he gave incredible feedback that would allow me to push this scene to the best that I could. I learned an invaluable amount of information from him about not only the environment process for games, but general art tips that I could apply to every future piece I create. I also want to give a special thanks to my friends for their insight and support during the creation of this environment. Thank you for looking!
